So you were away for the holidays and have returned home to find your land filled with weeds. What would you do? Would you let them continue to grow or call an exterminator? Even worse, you paid a housesitter to watch and maintain your property, but returned to this mess. How does this make you feel? This is exactly how God will feel, even worse, when God returns to the temple (your body) and see goats all over the land. Where are the sheep?
This in mind, let's compare the response of the natural to the supernatural.
So back to these noxious weeds in the land. When this occurs the common response is to call an exterminator. A person or company that you can trust to remove those unwanted, invasive species. Or better yet, you can rid them yourself.
A quick search reveals some ways to do so;
- Herbicide spray
- Chopping off the heads
- Pulling the weeds up
- Burning the weeds
Basically, your goal is to kill them, and I mean all of them. So is it safe to say that you are performing a genocide in your land. A genocide is a massive destruction of a group. This is an acceptable response, is it not? Then why get upset when God has to resort to the same measures to cleanse the land because you, the house sitter, did not maintain it.
The book of Matthew is a great place to turn, to discover God's response to these weeds. Which are those who were planted and do not belong, the goats.
But wait... thinking about it, how did the goats get on the land to begin with?
This could only happen if the temple is left desolate (you turning away from God). As it is written, the enemy came and sowed weeds (evil) among the wheat (good) and left. Both weeds and wheat grew together (this is a blended group of people, both good and evil). But when the harvest time comes God will have the angels (exterminators) separate the sheep (wheat) from the goats (weeds) and throw them in the fire. This is the moment when Jesus will resurrect to clean house.
Now lets take a closer look at what Jesus had to say regarding this;
-"Every plant that my heavenly father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots."
-"Gather the weeds and tie them together to be burned in the fire."
-"You do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this, if the owner of the house had known what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not let his house be broken into."
-"Then people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. He will send out his angels, and from every direction under the sky, they will gather those from whom God has chosen."
This being said... be mindful of how you are treating the temple of God. Also, be mindful of who you allow to come near the temple. Not everyone that comes around you is for you. The enemy is just one temptation away waiting to devour all you have like a goat in sheep's clothing.
So, call it genocide or exterminate. Whatever the case, just stay awake because the time is now.
