The Great Shake

The earth has been very unstable lately.  Earthquakes and volcanoes erupting everywhere, but what does this mean?  If you turn to the bible there are many explanations as to why the earth must go through these pains.  Even in day-to-day interactions, people talk about the shaking of something being a good thing.  A few that I can think of are; “Shake the devil off,” “lets shake things up a bit,” or how about some beverages, or sauces recommending that you Shake it up to get a taste of its best.  Oh, and don’t find out that you have a bug or a spider crawling on you.  Clothes and hair start shaking everywhere. Lol.

Now getting back on the truth, why does God allow things to be shaken, and why is it necessary?  One reason that God will shake the earth is to remove those things that can be shaken, hence, to keep that which is stable.  Possibly, to remove those things that are not of God, such as things/people that were illegitimately planted in your land.  In the scriptures, not only did God shake up the earth but heaven as well.

This in mind read the following scriptures.

- Haggi 2:6-7 – God shaking the heavens and the earth including ALL nations

- Hebrews 12:25-29 – The unshakable kingdom of God

- Jeremiah 10:10 – The wrath of God quakes the earth

- Ezekiel 38:20 – Men and all things on the earth shaking including the walls

- 1 Kings 14:15 – The strike and uproot of Israel

Notice that some of the scriptures speak of shaking while others speak of the fall and uprooting of things all of which hand in hand.  When the earth shakes, rocks are overturned, walls fall, and trees are uprooted.  As it is written, God said no stone will go unturned, this means God will filter through your life removing those impurities. It is also important to point out that prayer in the name of Jesus makes things happen and how much greater is the shake when two or three come together in prayer.  As it is written, “And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness,” Acts 4:31.

This is the foundation that God wants to create in your life.  One that no one can shake.  But for this to happen, God will need to shake things up a bit in your life.  However, once things stop shaking, those people and things that do not belong in your life will be removed.   So don’t cry if that relationship you really wanted does not seem to move in your direction, or that dream job comes to an end.  When this happens you pray and say, “God thank you so much, not my will, but your will be done.”  God wants to cleanse your life so that you gather that which is good and get rid of that which is bad.  God does not want to ruin your harvest and you should not let anyone ruin it.  For in the harvest the good and the bad will be separated with the bad being thrown into the fire.

Thank you, Lord, for shaking things up and showing who and what will stand the test of your great shake!
