As you reflect on 2022 and make your New Year's resolutions, be mindful of what you choose. This is your time to set a clean slate and get rid of those dark paths along your journey. This is the time to reevaluate what you are doing with your life. Who and what should make it, on your 2023 wish list. The 1st person should be Christ. If you have not sought out a relationship with him, this is the time to do so. You are running out of time and do not want to die and live eternally separated from him. He wants the best for you, more than your own loved ones.
Below are some reasons you should consider giving him the front seat in 2023 along with some scriptures you can read for a deeper understanding.
1) He LOVES you! READ: Unconditional Love- 1 John 4:13-21
2) He will make your path straight! READ: The light of the world- Proverbs 3:5-10
3) He has redeemed your soul! READ: Death on the cross- 1 Peter 2:21-25
4) He will cleanse your land! READ: Removal of the enemy - 2 Chronicles 7:14
5) He blesses you with the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Truth)! READ: Spiritual discernment - John 16:13-15
6) He wants to fight your battles for you! READ: Vindication and Vengeance- Deuteronomy 32:35-36
You may ask yourself, why is he not doing these things automatically? He is not the one breaking this covenant, it is you. God will not go deaf ears on us if we are truly crying out to him. He loves us so much that he gave his only son to die for you and me. He also is not invasive, so if you choose to turn away from him, he will not chase you. He waits for you like he is doing now. Every father wants what is best for their child, but there comes a time when they have to let you fall so a lesson could be learned.
Do not waste any more of your time on the things of the flesh. You and I both know that their pleasures are temporary and not fulfilling.
Die to the flesh live in the Spirit. Put on The Resolution
